Montaione is the right place to immerse yourself in the real Tuscan life and traditions far from the noisy life of the city, and during summer offers many opportunities for every age.
The town of Montaione, located on the hills between Florence and Siena, is organizing like every year the Summer Festival. The calendar, full cultural events and street exhibitions, will go on till the end of September.
The historic city centre is hosting permanent laboratories of photography, painting, sculpture, and local handcrafting.  Many initiatives like the ”Tuscany Jazz”, “Bingo under the stars”, and “Dancing under the stars” are very popular. The ‘Meat and Wine’ festival is dedicated to good local wine and meat cooked directly on the barbeque. For music lovers, “Classic” is a series of four classical concerts held in the nearby town of San Vivaldo.  At night, during the festival, the street shops remain open and street performers stroll through the main streets. On special evenings the museums will remain open.
Moreover do not miss the “Mercantia”, from July 14th to 18th, in the nearby town of Certaldo. This is one of the most famous festival of street theatre, a great event where tourists become part of the show. There will be exhibitions of the best Italian bands and street parades with storytellers, jugglers, performance art, theatre groups and bands, coming from all over the world.

Montaione durante l’estate offre numerose attività. Anche quest’anno l’estate montaionese è già cominciata da questo mese e durerà fino a settembre con un ricco calendario di eventi e appuntamenti culturali.  Il centro storico sta ospitando installazioni all’insegna della creatività con mostre di fotografia, pittura, scultura e prodotti tipici enogastronomici. Uno esempio tra tutti è il ‘Ciccia e vino’, festa popolare all’insegna del buon vino locale e della carne cotta direttamente sui bracieri.  Molte iniziative come il “Toscana Jazz”, “Tombola sotto le stelle” 2 “Ballando sotto le stelle” sono molto popolari.  Durante le serate previste nel centro storico  i negozi rimarranno aperti.  Inoltre non perdere “Classica”, quattro concerti di musica classica che si svolgeranno nella vicinissima città di San Vivaldo. in alcune serate i musei rimarrano aperti.
Inoltre da non perdere è il “Mercantia” che si svolgerà dal 14 al 18 di Luglio nella vicina città di Certaldo. Questo è il più grande e conosciuto festival di strada, una kermesse rinascimentale di grande attrattiva per i turisti, in cui il pubblico entra a far parte dello spettacolo. Si esibiranno le migliori street band italiane e le più originali parate di strada teatrali, con performance artistiche, cantastorie,  giocolieri e gruppi musicali che provengono da tutto il mondo.
