Rome’s Best Kept Secret!

You’re going on holiday to Rome. What an adventure! You’ll experience all a modern capital has to offer; excellent shops, an enviable culture and a more than enticing cuisine.
Staying at UNA Hotel Roma you’ll be able to relax in your spare time enjoying constant good service and comfort.
Of course, you’ll want to explore the ruins; they’re magnificent! The Coliseum, the Forum, the Baths – they’ll take up a lot of your time.
Try to keep some over. Reserve a day to take the Metro for the short trip to Ostia Antica. Now you’re in another world. Cross the footbridge to the ruins. Caesars and palaces are left far behind; at last you’re experiencing the Rome of the Romans.
The ruins of Ostia Antica go on and on. A real city where people lived out their lives, where they ate, where they went for entertainment and where they worked. The excavations are extensive and largely unknown. You can lose yourself among streets of houses where everyday people lived and children played; where slaves and servants attended to the very things we still attend to today.
Suddenly you’ll come upon the river. Half-close your eyes and you’ll be transported back to a time when galleys and barges from exotic lands plied the trade that was the lifeblood of Ancient Rome. If there’s time you could take the Metro just another couple of stops and have a quick dip in the warm blue waters of the Mediterranean before returning to the Eternal City. You don’t have to, of course. You could just stay soaking up the atmosphere of Ostia Antica until the light begins to fade, then have a romantic dinner in the nearby mediaeval walled city with its fairytale castle and narrow cobbled streets while you plan your next visit to ‘the Rome that time forgot!’
